Sevenoaks' beautiful Bradbourne Lakes are under threat due to a lack of funding and care. In recent years the Conservative-run District Council's budgetary constraints have allowed the lakes to dramatically deteriorate.

If they are left much longer they will turn into a rubbish-strewn wasteland with silted ponds and muddy streams running through them.

We simply must not allow this to happen.

Your Liberal Democrat Northern Ward Town Councillors Merilyn Canet and Cathy Baker said: "We are working hard with local residents to restore the lakes to their former glory."

Please support the Lakes conservation project:

1. To improve water quality

2. To restore the trees and surrounding landscape

3. To enhance the peace and tranquility of the park
