New Parliamentary Candidate aims for victory in General Election

Our new Parliamentary Candidate Richard Streatfeild MBE launched his General Election campaign, with the support of Baronness Kramer, in the glorious surroundings of The Mount Vineyard.

More than 70 party members and supporters heard Richard set his target: to make Sevenoaks and Swanley a Lib Dem seat for the first time in a century.

Richard said: "Nationally, we desperately hope that change is coming - the polls say this Tory Government faces defeat.

"And the amazing by-election results achieved by Lib Dem colleagues all over the country give us hope here in Sevenoaks and Swanley.

"Several of our local team have helped on those by-elections, picking up vital experience.

"We have built strong foundations in the heart of Sevenoaks Town. And in the recent local elections, in Sevenoaks Kippington – what was the most Tory ward in what was a Tory town – we won the two District Council seats and all three Town Council ones.

"With your help and support, a truly historic Lib Dem win in Sevenoaks and Swanley is within reach."
